Easy Ways to Save For Vacation

Parker and I went on an anniversary trip to Mexico a few years ago and I wanted to share how we afforded it! We are planning a trip for our anniversary again this year and these are the same tips we are using to save money!
1.) We saved all of our loose change for a year in an “adventure fund” jar
We found a jar that had a coin slot at the top and we used that as our adventure fund jar! So after saving most of our loose change for a year we saved up about $70!

2.) We signed up for a Southwest credit card (use this link and we’ll both receive a bonus!)
This was the biggest money saver! When you sign up for a Southwest credit card, they offer you a sign on bonus! We received enough points to cover our flights completely!! Our round trip flights to Mexico were FREE. We only had to pay a small fee to cover taxes. This year we’re able to plan trip for our anniversary because we have enough points to cover our flights round trip again! We are so excited!
3.) Sell old items on Offer Up or Facebook Marketplace
Another thing we did was go through items we didn’t use anymore and put them up for sell. All the money we earned from this we added to our adventure fund. We easily earned $150 to pay towards our vacation!
4.) If you have T-Mobile they have T-Mobile Tuesdays where they have offers for their customers up to 40% off hotels
I’ve used T-Mobile’s hotels offer and got a killer deal on our 2 night stay at the Little America Hotel in Flagstaff. We paid $130 a night and it’s normally over $180 a night on hotels.com. So you really can get great deals if you go through them!!
We are so excited to start saving up and planning for our next trip! I prefer to spend our money on experiences! It’s so worth it to do the extra work to make vacations happen! I hope that these tips can help you too!
