LIFE CHANGING PARENTING BOOKS

These 4 books have changed my life.
I understand my children better and we are all happier because of it! They’re incredibly eye opening and have truly have shaped me into the mother I am today. I cannot rave about these books enough.

And if you’re thinking how in the world am I suppose to find time to read a book? I listened to every one of them through Audible!! I was able to finish more books in one year than I had in last 5 years! I listened to them while washing dishes, during morning walks and on drives. I love filling my cup through learning!

This was the book that lead me to start our 1000 hours outside challenge! It helped me prioritize getting outside everyday with the kids! Our bodies need sunlight and nature. It affects our mental and physical health! Kids today are spending less time outside than every before.
It may seem like “another outlandish ambition heaped onto the plate of an already overloaded parent. But nature play is not another thing to shove into an already overloaded schedule. A childhood built upon nature play is different way to do childhood all together.” -Ginny Yurich
It’s a simple childhood.
4. Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours by Kevin Leman

I love that this book is so well balanced. It’s important to respect your children but it’s also important to have boundaries. They are given the ability to choose and along with that natural consequences. It is SO GOOD. It’s practical and just makes sense.
I was recommended this book and I’m so happy I read it. I’m reading it again for a second time!
5. The Yes Brain by Daniel Siegel

If you feel a pull to learn about respectful parenting, these 4 books are a great way to start learning about it! I hope this helps you with your parenting journey! You matter. The work you do every day matters. You as a mother have an incredible influence!
