Bugs & Butterflies Day 4

Supplies:

First fold the card stock in half vertically or hot dog style haha. Then use a pencil to draw body shapes of different bugs. This one here is the body of a dragon fly. Then you’ll cut it out! You’ll repeat those same steps for the wings, legs and antennas! Here is a picture of our cut outs to give you an example of the different shapes you can make.

There are two ways you can set this craft out for your kids. 1. Is like this picture, separated by parts. Or 2. Is like the picture below, separated by bug.

Lucy is obsessed with googly eyes. Any project that includes googly eyes she is all over it! That was definitely her favorite part.

I set out the craft both ways for her. It was cute to see what she made without any guidance! She started to get a little frustrated with the glueing. I think if I were to do it again I would make the legs and antennas thicker so they would be easier to glue on.

We love crafting together! It’s something we both enjoy doing. I love that it’s something we can do to connect during the day.
